Welcome!

HI there! My name is Marian, I was born in Savannah GA. and am currently living and working out of my home about 30 miles NW of the city in a small community called Ellabell.  SInce my studio  is located in my home,  it is private,  but you can look for me in local art shows and events, and of course you can find me here!

I create realistic pet, human, equine, and wildlife portraits in oil paints. I also paint from photographs as long as they are clear, that is not blurry.

For years, I created fantasy art in acrylics.  While acrylics are wonderful in their own way, they dry fast, which makes them a unique pain.  Over the years I’ve experimented using all mediums, and today, while I still include acrylics in my underpaintings,  I use oil in the main painting because I absolutely adore them. I love the way the linseed oil in the paint smells, I love the way they flow from the tube, and I love the way the paint lays down on a surface.  They are simply magnificent.

While I still create fantasy art,  for instance, if you play Dungeons and Dragons, you might be interested in comssissioning yourself as your favorite character. All you need to is email me and we can work together on the project. I’m not limited in what I can or will create. I would prefer to paint whatever we decide in oils. 

Since I was a small child I knew I wanted my life to be a createive outlet. While making my stuff, I had to work a day job or two which was fine because those jobs taught me how to act proper in public. Without them, I’m afraid I might just be feral.

On top of that, most artists, like myself,  live a solitary life in our studios, I don’t want to say it’s lonely because creating the art is such a joyful experience that time just flies when we’re in our studios. For me,  I’ll sit down to paint and the next thing I know 6 hours or more has passed. That doesnt leave a lot of time for socialization or recreation! But that’s ok, I just wanted to let you know in advance so that when you meet me, I may or may not seem a tad socially awkward.

Now, about my subject matter,  who doesn’t love their pets? I don’t care what kind of pet you have,  whether it is a dog, cat, guinea pig, or a bunny rabbit, you are going to adore it.  Since they are only here for a short amount of time, it’s only fitting that they should be immortalized in paint.  That’s where I come in for you!  When you’re ready to discuss a commission or just interested in purchasing you may certainly email me, info@mariangrahamfineart.com is the best way to contact me.
