About Me

Hi! I'm Marian
Oil Painter/Artist
I was born and raised in beautiful Savannah, Georgia. Today, I live in Ellabell, a little community outside of the city.
I am a self taught artist and I've been painting for as long as I can remember.
I specialize in creating stunningly realistic portraits of pets, humans, equines, wildlife, still life, and fantasy art in oil paint. With 50 years of experience creating different types of art, I skillfully combine various media. Sometimes I employ acrylics for underpaintings while completing my main pieces in oil.
Lately I've used more traditional methods, rather than use acrylic for the underpainting, I size my wood panels with PVA (3 coats) then apply oil ground (3 coats). It takes forever, but it's definitely worth it
You see that photo above? That's me, third from the left, in 1965. The skinny kid in the seersucker dress, with artist dreams as big as the sky.
I'm living the dream of painting for a living and enjoying every moment with my buddies, Harry and Poe.
Currently, you may find some of my work along with other folks works from the Savannah Art Association at several locations;
