Midsummer Daydream

This portrait in oil on a 16×20 canvas is my grandson, Sebastian.  I’m portraying him as the innocence and purity of life flows through him. He’s set against a dreamy background of blues and cozy earthtones.

I want the viewer to feel a gentle summer breeze or catch a wiff of sun-warmed grass while gazing into eyes that demand both attention and introspection. He’s poised in a timeless moment, and holds a universe of stories behind his mysterious and serene gaze.

This portrait is inspired though my longing for and memories of my beloved grandson as he was in younger days.  Through this painting I hope to entice you to pause, reminisce, and perhaps rediscover the simple joys wrapped in the laughter and the innocence of childhood.
