Alexander

This is a highly detailed portrait of my beloved son Alexander, who escaped this mortal coil eight years ago. This 18×24 portrait in oil captures the intensity of his piercing blue gaze, which if you’d known him you’d know that gaze commanded attention.

I called Alexander, Xander, while the rest of the world knew him as Alex. He was a gifted musician, artist, and poet. Often these traits bring a deep sensitivity to everything the world throws their way. The world itself sometimes is too large a burden for one person to bear. I’ve attempted to capture his vulnerabilities, and small doses of wisdom within his short but all too meaningful life.

This portrait imbues the emotion I felt while creating this tribute celebrating Xander with love and precision. I invite you to connect with his story behind his gaze and understand the universal themes of loss and memories.
